Barbara Ingram

Barbara’s work blends strong therapeutic principles and technique with compassion, insight, positive enthusiasm and humor. Her style is based in a diversified education has kept her practice alive with skills covering relaxation to therapeutic, intensive to energetic, medical to athletic. Licensed since 1990, she has taught professional colleagues Therapeutic Movement, CranioSacral Therapy, NeuroMuscular Therapy, Pre- & Perinatal Bodywork, Infant Massage, and Lymphatic Drainage, including multiple teaching sessions in clinics and hospitals in Eastern Europe.

Individually designed awareness lessons combine Feldenkrais Method®, Yoga asanas and Soft Tissue Manipulation to increase one’s awareness of his/her habitual neuromuscular patterns and rigidities, and to expand options for new ways of moving into sensitivity, efficiency and ease. Her passion for movement therapy was born after 20 years of studying the human anatomy as individual parts, when a seeming simple reaching request in a Feldenkrais session illuminated the path of integrated movement within a functional context – reaching, walking, turning, rolling, hugging – whatever is important to an individual in their life.

Preferred provider on many major medical insurance plans, including PIP and L&I, and enjoys collaboration as part of the client’s health care team. Other life interests, outside of playing with movement, include hiking, bicycling, yoga, bird watching, gardening.
